We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Finance and Resource Mobilization Director to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, resource mobilization, and donor relations, and will possess excellent analytical and leadership skills. As the Finance and Resource Mobilization Director, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial resources of our organization and ensuring sustainable funding for our programs and initiatives.


Responsibilities:


1. Financial Management:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure efficient use of resources and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, monitoring actual performance against the budget, and providing regular financial reports to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee financial audits and coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely completion and compliance with audit requirements.


2. Resource Mobilization:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive resource mobilization strategy to diversify funding sources and increase revenue generation.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential donors, funding agencies, and other relevant stakeholders, ensuring effective communication to promote our organization's mission and secure funding.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants, partnerships, and sponsorships, by conducting research, preparing proposals, and completing applications.
  • Manage donor databases and ensure accurate and timely reporting in compliance with funding requirements.


3. Donor Relations:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all donor and funder communications, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Coordinate and oversee the development of funding proposals, ensuring alignment with donor guidelines and priorities.
  • Provide regular updates and progress reports to donors and stakeholders to demonstrate impact and financial accountability.
  • Develop and implement stewardship activities to recognize and engage donors, fostering long-term partnerships.


4. Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of finance and resource mobilization professionals, ensuring their professional growth, performance, and motivation.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging cross-functional teamwork and effective communication.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on financial management, resource mobilization, and donor relations to build capacity within the organization.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience (at least 10 years) in finance management, resource mobilization, and donor relations, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, and forecasting.
  • Exceptional skills in developing and implementing resource mobilization strategies, including grant writing and proposal development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, funders, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, and experience working with donor databases.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the organization's mission and values.
